  • Is it possible to swap Auto transmission with manual ?

    Hi All,

I noticed my neighbour's 1.5 trio festiva has got a stick shift ... while I'm pretty sure it had an auto lever before. could he have swapped the auto gearbox with a manual one ? funny the stick had a nice accordion boot too ... is it possible !!

if it had the option of manual trans from the factory then yes fairly simply. if it didnt have the option then still yes, just not as simple.

to do it you will need: manual axles, shifter linkage, pedal assembly, manual transmission, flywheel, clutch cable, mounts, starter, possibly the lower cross member. basicaly, if it touches the trans, you need it. swap over time of about 4 hours if you're comfortable working on cars. plus a few rewires at the pedal and starter.
