Steering Rack

I am doing my swap and was wondering how much material can I remove from the close quarters on the steering rack?

Also considered just lopping off the bolt boss there on the engine/trans. I cannot imagine it would weaken it much.

I want to 'clearance' the rack a little more but do not want to cut too far.

Not exactly an engineering question, and not one that has been done, at least very often! If you break ground with this take pictures.

When you score glass it doesn't break, not until a little ting-ting is applied in just the right spot, then it follows that score. Both the transmission and the rack housings can break the same way. Look at where the forces are coming from before you do much.

Well I relieved a little more material from the rack and the transmission.

Didn't help. Still hitting.

I am going to pull it and see what else I can do.
