  • Weird headlight issues

    1993 festiva-
Lights don't work. Daytime corner lights never worked and I don't really care about them, but main lamps are suddenly not working.

The switch on the steering column trips the headlamp relay- but lamps don't work. Wires are ok from relay to headlamps.
All fuses and fusible links are OK.

The bright light indicator does not show up in dashboard when switch on steering column is set to brights...

What else can I check? I just installed a manual switch for the radiator fan, but it worked with that for awhile. Any ideas?

    well heres the issue--
im not drawing nearly enough amps needed for the lamp relay to trip. So its either a bad wire or a bad fuse somewhere.

Where are the headlight fuses located?

They should be in a black box that you can remove the top from either under the hood (against the firewall or one of the inner fenders), under the driverside dash (maybe inside a kick pannel), or both. That is usually where they have been in every vehicle i've owned but i'm not 100% certian if the Festiva's have them there or not. If i'm wrong someone will correct me i'm sure.

If you can find where they are they often label them on the underside of the top of the fuse box lid.
