    1993 gl automatic

my coolant was dripping a little bit so i went under the car and found that the radiator drain plug was a little loose so as i go to tighten it it snapped off flush with the radiator so does anyone have any suggestions how to get the remainder out of the radiator? someone at the auto parts store said there may be a clip that takes the drain plug unit out and could be replaced. is this true?

Is there any room to get up in there with a little punch and hammer ,then make a little indentation in it ,if there is enough left and then tap tap tap a roo . and just keep working it around till it is loose enough to finger it out the rest of the way .

I've said it a few times before, but you should try spraying some PB Blaster on there first, and wait for about 20 minutes. Spray it one more time. If you have a dremel, you can cut a notch right in the middle of the plug, and then get in there with a flathead screwdriver and twist it out. It will work like a charm

        the big question is:

is the drain plug still leaking?
if not, you can just leave it alone, and next time just pull off the lower hose to drain it

You could just leave it in there and put some 2 part epoxy over it. That should hold.

Try heating a screwdriver and pressing it into the plastic to get a grip, then turn the remainder out?

this may sound crude but after trying the different ideas i drove a steak knife in it and then took a flat head screw driver and got it out. my Friend that owns an auto repair shop said that there was clips that held the section in and you take two screwdrivers to get it out. has anyone heard of this? this is the second time someone told me this.
