What George said or you can stick two punch's in the holes of the cam gear and put a screw driver in between them to keep it from turning.

i mean crank then the gear at bottom it keeps spinning.
my other stiva it was easy this one is being dumb.
I've only been able to get mine off with an impact wrench. There are ways like using the starter motor, putting it in 5th, jamming a screwdriver in the flywheel and using a strap wrench but they never work for me. You have to lower that side of the motor quite a bit to use the impact.

Yes Impact or use the starter.

All you want to do is Jump the relay hot wire from the battery. I have my own home made jumper wires for various jobs. But you can get a bag of pre-made test leads from Radio Snack.Put two or three in series and Voila. Pos Battery to Bk/W wire @ relay, have someone work the connection at the battery whilst you hold the breaker bar attached to crank bolt. (Do a test bump so you are sure you know which way the crank is spinning first though !
Here is a link to a bag of 8-24" leads for $7.50 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062661

I just did my timing belt and had to remove my crank bolt, you will have to take the 3 bolts off the motor mount and drop the motor and get at it with an impact.
I would have changed my seal but I like that I just add oil and change filters every so often.

The seals get hard after 20 + years & can cut a groove into the crank. Its really a good idea to change them at first opportunity.

There is another trick to getting bolt off. Take one of the plugs out and bring piston to top.Turn crank in direction that bolt turns til it piston comes to top. Then lower it about two inches and take some rope and feed into the hole until you can't get no more rope in and use enough rope to leave some hanging out of the hole. This will keep crank from turning. Take a torch and heat the bolt until it gets pretty warm or hot. Then put socket on and use a bar for more leverage. This is what I had to do to get mine off. I had tried the impact wrench, turning engine with starter.
