  • Throttle body dash pot

So I went in and checked my throttle body for the first time since I bought my Festy. The idle was wrong, the position sensor was wrong, and the.. DASH POT.. was wrong. Well, after getting everything into spec with the good old Haynes manual, I found out why. This dash pot thingy does not collapse as fast as it should, well, not all the time. I tried giving it the WD-40, no luck.

So now I am searching for a replacement DASH POT. Everywhere I try, no love. They can all search for it, but nothing ever comes up!

    Where can I get one?
    -or-
Is there a fix for this?
    -or-
Is there a replacement throttle body that is better?

    Thanks!!

I've been messing with mine. It's adjustable with 8mm wrench.

Does that adjust the fall rate?
Mine is too slow, the engine revs up between shifts.

If the idle is okay once stabilized but the fall rate is not then the dashpot needs adjusting. Mine was conking out even though the idle was somewhat high. I lengthened the bolt to fix it. You need to shorten yours.

So I turn the bolt in further than the manual says to set it as an adjustment to spec?

The manual says to hold it at 3 thousand something RPM then release it and it should be touching the plunger at 2000 something but you can adjust it anyway you like. In your case that would be screwed in.

I "adjusted" my dashpot and now the idle stays just above 1k . How do I get it back down to reasonable? thanks

There is a procedure to adjust the TPS. Follow that. When that is done, do like stated above.
