  • Engine Removal

The engine in my '93 is officially toast. If I pull it without trans, will the pass side inner CV interfere with pulling it out of the clutch splines?

Nope. I've done it once. It is harder though. The input shaft on the trans doesn't want to let the engine slide over enough to come out without a fight. I would just pull the whole thing if I need to do it again.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

      Engine Removal

My last B3 change I did in 4-1/2 hours start to finish and I left the trans in the car

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Tranny in is so much simpler, especially if your front end hasn't been apart for some time. Just easier not to have to worry about any of that.
And getting the motor off the input shaft, is simple, tilt engine up on the front side and wiggle it off. Not sure why so many people seem to have issues with that.
Like damkid, doing a sub 5 hour swap with a B3 is easily achievable.
