Bsically... ratio of old numbers times speedo difference (.878 ) equals the amount of change made up in the adaptor box

Thanks, that is the math I need to get the numbers for. Without that ratio the speedo cannot be accurately produced.

^ Huli IIRC the Festy & Aspire are the same count numbers. To accommodate the different final drive ratio (which would change the speedo) the Aspire got larger tires. I dont know if this helps?

I must have phrased that incorrectly. I need the gear that drives the cable and the gear in the transmission that it rides on. Tooth counts for both.

I am trying to get my speedo adjusted and the company wants the counts for the calibration.

My current Aspire has gone thru several speedos, and it hasn't reached 200K miles yet. I think the Aspire speedo internals are inherently weaker than the Festy ones. My current one is having issues now with resetting the tripmeter. The speedos are pretty easy to swap out.

Going to ask here too. Anyone know the tooth count of both the gear going to the speedo cable and the gear in the manual transmission that it interfaces?

What is up with the three different speedo units? Grabbed one out of an Aspire at the j/y... was the short blue one!!! mine is the yellow one. Any ideas why some are comming up different? Possible different tranny builds available through different Aspires?

It was the drive gear. Speedo works fine now.

Check the tension pin that holds in the speedo gear. I had to replace mine recently.

Judging by that photo too...the blue one would be too short to reach the gear in the tranny thus giving you no Speedo!
Its all good you where spot on with finding the pic of the gears also Boss! Great job I was just wondering if maybe that was a F series unit? Or came out of an AT ?
