  • BP swap coil issues

    Hey guys,

    So I've recently put in a BP, but have been troubleshooting it for about 2 months now... I had to redo all of my wiring harness. Now I'm ready to start it up, problem is IM NOT GETTING SPARK!!! Real sick of this lol... anyways traced it back to the coil, I'm getting power to the yel/grn and blk/wht wires in run and start. but when i check for spark from the coil to the distributor, I have nothing. My guess is that I burnt up my coil, but I'd like a second opinion or maybe just a 2nd on my idea before I go out and buy a new one. Thoughts?

      Alright hold up. I'm looking through my wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual I got... The black and white ignition coil wire comes from the start and run portion of the key, but the yellow and green I found goes to the ignition module (which also has a blue/orange wire going to the ECU, and a ground...) is this yellow/black wire also supposed to have power in run/start??? sorry if it sounds like I'm beating a dead horse but I don't want to go out and buy another coil if my wiring is wrong in the first place.

          LOL No wonder your confused Bro look what you wrote.... What yellow/black wire? Sounds like you got it figured out though, keep us posted if you still need help.I know how fun staring at schematics can be.
          BK/W = 12v to coil
          Y/GN from grd side of tach=tach output this wire splices to W and goes also to ICM
          W=ICM(which controls grd,field collapse)
          BL/O=ECM
          BK=Grd
          Y/GN= self test from ECM!
