  • Transmission seneor help!

i need help trying to figure out what the sensor is called that is on the passenger side of a manual transmission directly below the passenger side axle. it is on a capri but i know a festiva has the same sensor in the same place and im just hoping it does the same thing. I cannot figure out the correct name or part number or anything.
    any help appreciated. thanks

Are you talking about the reverse light switch? When you put the transmission gear into reverse, it pushes a metal ball into the switch, thereby grounding it and allowing the reverse lights to come on.

i think it is called the neutral switch or neutral safety switch. hoping maybe i can find one. it looks to me like the two sensors are identical but i can't say forsure.

The two switch's are the tranny should be the same. One is the neutral position(not Safety) & the other is reverse b/u light switch. The safety switch is on your clutch pedal assembly. But if your taking one out of a Capri, just see if it will cross refernce to the Festy on something like rockauto.
