  • Help...no fuel

    Here's the situation
    1990 L plus fuel injected

I have spark but no fuel. Car was running fine and I clipped a curb pulling into a driveway, car stalled and won't start again. I can get it to start with starting fluid but I don't have fuel.

    What I've done so far:
Fuel pump is one year old.
Inertia switch is good, bypassed to make sure
    changed out the pump relay.

    Any ideas?
    Chris

I'd pull off the cover to the fuel pump and clean/reconnect the fuel pump's connections.

remove driver side panel inside trunk and there is a inertia switch. you probably tripped it.

under your hood LR you'll have a 2 wire black connector (GN/R & BK) this is the fuel pump connector. short the 2 wires, fuel pump should run.
Fuel pump is controlled by air flow past the VAF on the air box. look for induction air leaks. pull the rear carpet back open the fuel pump access test for voltage at the pump. Or you could go to your new FP relay test & short the FP there. With no inertia switch banging the curb is a moot point.

i didn't bypass my inertia switch only because if i get in an accident i would like to not burn to death.

Like said above you probably knocked the air inlet tube loose.

So, I checked every connection individually and tried starting after each one. Checked for voltage and had voltage at the pump. Pulled the pump and checked it directly off the battery. Pump worked. Put everything back together again and it started like nothing was wrong. Still not sure what the problem was but at least the fix was free. Thanks for the help everyone.

You annoyed it by clipping the curb. It was just letting you know who is the boss here.
