Re: cheap clutch , any of these any good?
I would stick with exedy but if you decide to buy one of those please keep us posted on how well its holding up. You may change a bunch of people's minds. When you change it take some pics for a diy.

Its been my experience..that ya get what ya pay for. If ya dont pay much...dont expect much. You asked here, if these are any good, so you probably have doubts. Listen to those doubts!
I bought a Bahnhoff brand clutch from "auto parts express" ....and it slips at hi-rpm shifts. They assemble these clutches themselves with parts they buy on the cheap
Spend the few extra bucks for an Exedy or similar and be assured it will work for you.Last edited by drddan; 04-05-2013, 10:18 PM.Dan

You also have to take into account the effort to change a clutch. Either pulling the motor or dropping the subframe and tranny. It's time consuming and something that you want to do one time and be done. I am going to be needing a clutch within a year and I have been on the fence about an "eco omy" clutch. I don't know what I'm going to do but of money doesn't get better I maybe giving a complex write up on a heavy duty offbrand clutch.

Exedy or Luk... i've beaten the crap out of both and they come back for more, and they both start with more cutch material than either of the ones linked.Trees aren't kind to me...

ill stick with exedy larger and fewer pressure plate fingers after looking at the pics helped make the decision.
Im with you though kingston if somebody else wants to try out the HD clutch off of ebay and spread the results thats a good bit of savings. Also this one which seems like a no brainer that quality is garbage because cost is too low.

Question between these 2 clutches they have the same product number... from exedy website they list 2 links but with the same product code and they both fit the festiva all models from what I can tell....
Why do these look different the one has a ring around the fingers of the pressure plate seems like a great improvement against wear more consistant pressure.
vs the one that are open fingered.
im thinking about getting the first one where it has the center ring for the fingers , but I dont want to buy it and then it get here and not have it so they would be identical but yet im out a few more bucks.

that picture is NOT a festy pressure plate (the one with the ring).... i'm figuring it;s a stock photo for example only.Last edited by FestYboy; 04-06-2013, 08:18 PM.Trees aren't kind to me...

Clicked the link and skimmed the page...
this caught my eye " ... They produce over 70% of their manufactured products at a state of the art facility in Belleville, Michigan."
Hey! I'll go pick one up from the factory for you.-Zack

lol thats cool , actually looking a little more after proceding the checkout info they say they never charge a handling fee but they still charge shipping..
so this turns out to be the cheapest overall buy. just dont try to save more by using a coupon code i found one for 3% off but you drop under 100 bucks for the order and then have to pay shipping because its free shipping on all orders over 100 bucks , unless you decide to get multiple things of course.
