  • no fuel no spark no fuel inj

so I got truckstiva to start the other day, and I didn't have a intake pipe so today I got an intake pipe install it and guess what nothing!!! I checked for the fuel pump to run when I pushed on the vaf flapper and it didn't so then I pulled number one fuel inj wire and installed a noid light and it didnt light up so now i know that I have no fuel and no fuel inj pulse. I ordered another distributor, could it be dis, ecu or icm? thanks -Dan

i always recommend checking this and i have an extra so let me know you can bypass easy just remove main fuse at dash and get 2 wires. unplug relay and with 2 wires tie one from fat wire to other fat wire and the other tie small wire to other small wire.

humm. ill try it tonight. another symptom I have is when I turn the key on, then back off the dash lights are stuck on and lit dim. untill I unplug that relay and then they go out.

I might be way off but this could be a ground issue .
I had the same problem after my b6d swap and it was one of the grounds from the capri harness was loose and it would start and run fine some times then wouldn't do any thing but crank other times

Computer problems..for real.. pretty rare. Ground problems from body work..common.

Just 3 hours ago I had a air bag problem brought in. The front left hand impact sensor left a b1945 code and the problem was not the ground in the airbag module, it was the ground from the sensor itself to the core support. Paint and stuff left from body work.

Check your grounds then collect some more symptoms to work with.

yeah I know the fact of the matter is that 95% of ecu problems really are not the ecu but something else. that being said what would let my engine turn over and still have no spark, fuel pump, fuel inj pulse,. replaced dis, icm. car started fine before then wouldn't all of a sudden. Im going to check all my grounds tomorrow because that does make sense.

Glad you found it! Just throwing out there though, on a swap I was working on I could not get injector pulse or spark to save my life. Checked/swapped/replaced everything you did and still nothing. Threw in an old B3 ECU just for the heck of it, and it fired right up. So I swapped in the one from my EGT and sent it on its way. So it IS possible to have a bad ECU. Though, as many have stated, its usually not. Thats the only time I've personally encountered a bad ECU on any of these Mazdas.
