  • 1989 L carby,

Can someone tell me what to go and look at to fix my vent air to send warm air when the heat is on????????No matter if I have selected hot or cold on vent it's only cold air, defrost and floor blows hot air but when I put it on vent it blows outside cold air,I am in MI and it sure would be nice to get that fixed.Does anybody have a link to download a a shop manual?????Thank you.Bill.

The heater ducts do not go to the dash vents...stupid design by Ford/Mazda/Kia...whoever the heck did it!

Keep it on Defrost and blast it on 3! The car is so tiny you'd be surprised how well it does with just defrost...still it's annoying and it takes awhile to warm up from a cold start. On heat/defrost only I still get cold air that comes through my dash vents.

2nded. All of my festiva's have been amazing in the snow, but terrible with the cold. Defrost is basically the only way.

There is a permanent thread ("sitcky") at the top of the repair help home page dealing with heat.

vent on ALL cars is outside air intake!! vent off circulates air from inside your car. Only time I use vent is when its hot outside and I want more air flow from outside. if your not getting air to your windshield you probably have a plugged duct. Sounds to me that your heater is working fine if your getting hot air to your dash and feet. You also could have a duct that has come off going to your defroster
