Carpet Question

I have carefully removed an OEM carpet from a parts car but not yet attempted an install of one. Guaranteed this is not a 5 minute operation. Seats and interior panels all have to be removed. There are styrofoam inserts in the underpad at the front and you'd somehow have to get all this stuff back together. Good time to try to engineer some sort of inspection covers or velcro lids to get at the e-brake quadrant at the back seat and the fuel pump access lid.

I watch for carpet that is thrown away. I take it and cut out the nice pieces. I hose is down with water and soap. I let the sun dry it out.
I have nice big piece of burgundy rug that looks expensive. I cut pieces out and use them for floor mats. You can undo the screws under plastic moldings
and fit this cart in and then cut it to fit. It takes some effort but it does not cost much. If you take the carpet out treat all rust spots if you see any.
