  • 1998 chevy blazer hood will not open

i have a 1998 chevy blazer that the hood will not open when someone is pulling on the cable and i tried to go under it with a long screww driver to unlatch it but there are things in the way to stop me. has anyone else had a problem like this before?

thanks for all of the help.

On my 91, s-10, the cable broke and I used a 3/8ths drive ratchet and some very long extensions with the right size socket and took out the bolts that hold the catch to the hood. Had to come from underneath the truck to reach them.

            suggestion Juncture jussgestion

            my suggestion:
I never throw used engine out. I use it to pour on rust spots. You can load an oil can with a squinter and shot the day lights out the latch as best
you can. Put news paper down. Also drive the vehicle on a dirt road some where to do this because you don't want oil on your parking spot.
This oil my hit the stubborn spot. When you get it open whip it down with old rags.

            end of the this juncture.
