  • Weird problem with electronics running in "accessory&qu

Okay my mom bought the car awhile back for $250. It runs pretty good except for some minor electrical configuration. The radio was installed by someone who didn't know what they were doing and the radiator fan runs all the time as long as the ignition is on. When I put the ignition to "acc" it doesn't turn on anything. It seems like whoever installed the radio ran the power to the wrong area. The Fan has a power cord going straight into the fuse box without a fuse. Another thing is that the wipers, ac fans, radio, and radiator fan doesn't run unless i wiggle the key in the ignition. Please help. I think I'll probably need to start with the radiator fan and probably the ignition second.

Get a manual for the wiring schematics. The fan problem could be the relay or the fan coolant switch. The manual shows what and how to check those. Or you could go to the junkyard and pull the switch which is located on the water neck and pull the relay which is located behind the drivers headlight.

The radio just needs to be wired properly. The shop manual or Haynes manual has the schematic or this may be correct
