  • So after talking to a lot of people on here.

I've realized that it would be more helpful in the long run to get a factory repair manual. Now i think I found one but I'm not sure.

Is this a factory repair manual:

    No.

The repair manuals are really thick blue books.

Here's the eBay auction I stole the picture from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/origi...ayphotohosting

I've been looking all over for a 1989 one but can't find it. I guess Haynes will do though.

If your car is a stick shift (carb'd) the '88 manual will work.

I had an '89 and used the '88 manual with no problems.

My shop manual looked totally different than that blue one. It was white no picture of a festiva on the front, it was for a 1991 I think. I don't really like the manual though, I like haynes manual better.

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

So what is the whole difference between the Haynes one and the Factory one?

mine looks different than that blue one also. but is a thick paperback, and say ford service manual. i have a haynes manual for my toyota, i didnt think it was bad though. they say the factory manuals go into more detail and explain better.
