I just took my upper cover off yesterday and it's broken. Is it ok to run without when for awhile?

I had no upper timing cover on my B3 at all. Been that way for 2-3 years, since the belt broke, and I replaced it.
Didnt even bother with putting it on when I did the B6 swap
Besides, it looks cool!Last edited by drddan; 06-18-2013, 12:45 PM.Dan

OK, so I see the lower cover piece has 3 bolts. I've only removed 2 from mine. I'll get in there soon and find+remove that 3rd bolt. Thanks!88L black, dailydriver

I like mine without either cover. If I install another I will do the same but would like to dress up the internals somehow. Just a note, I have had other types of cars come into the shop because snow got inside the cover and threw the timing belt off the pulleys. I push snow, slide over snow drifts ect and have never had any problem with the timing belt. No plastic under cover either.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig
