  • Need Front/Rear Strut Bolts/Nuts

I rounded the nuts on my front passenger struts and I'd really just like to replace them all with new ones anyway. Not to mention my rear drivers side snapped when I tried to unscrew it.

I went to O'Reillys and AutoZone and neither of them could get the front strut bolts. O'Reillys showed it in their system but then he couldn't order it. I then took my bolt to Lowe's and they didn't have the right size either. The guy told me I should try an Auto Parts store! So any idea where I can get these bolts/nuts?

These things are pretty generic. Wander by the local U-pull and smack out a few from a Rio. Thanks to innovative swappers on this forum you can be assured that these fit perfect.

Bottom of the strut. I broke it off at the beam.

That one is generic as well. Measure the width of a shock and add 1/2-5/8 inch to get the length (in mm). For sure though it will be an M10 1.25 thread (one full turn every 1.25 mm). If possible it should be stamped 10 on the head but I've used ordinary grade 8.8s before without problems. Compatible bolts like this can be found on starters/alternators and motor mounts and heaven knows where else.

It's easy to see why parts cars are such a godsend.

I want to say the rear strut bolt is the same as the front inner lca bolt?! pretty sure that's accurate.... so if you can't get a good rear bolt grab a inner lca bolt :p

if you broke that off you'll probably have to punch out the captive nut in the axle and stick another nut in there, definately need a washer and lock washer to make that job easier....and to spread the load inside the axle.
