Excessive Oil Consumption

My 91 Festiva is using oil at a rate of 1 qt every 300 miles. When parked on the driveway at night there are some drops of oil but nothing major. I am just about convinced that the crankshaft seal needs to be replaced......if this is the case would oil leak out while driving only and not be noticed when just sitting on the driveway overnight? If the engine is "burning" the oil is this enough oil consumption to cause it to produce blue smoke while driving? I have done a compression check; 3 cylinders @ 175 pounds and 1 cylinder @ 160 pounds. What should be my next step?

I think if it was burning it you wouldnt be able to see be hind you lol.
When my front main was leaking is was bearly leaking when parked but was blowing oil halfway down the underside of the car when driving .
