Loud Backfire and no start. Help requested.

so i put my engine(BP) all together from rebuild and triple checked timing i am getting gas and getting spark (at least to dizzy) from dizzy haven't tested. car turns over but no crank and about the 3rd or 4th turn over it backfires really loud like a gun shot.

Any ideas?

Check to see if you have spark at the end of the plug wire.

Here comes the million dollar question again. Are the wires in the proper firing order? Which way does the rotor turn? Counterclockwise?

^2 Sure sounds like dizzy or wireing.

Make sure your fuel lines aren't crossed.

We should start the small list/thread of all the sockets required to remove and install an engine, throw some pics and stuff in there for reference...I can do a b6 and aspire b3, anybody wanna volunteer for b6d/T, and BP/t?

Checked dizzy cap rotor button and getting spark at spark plugs. Now I did leave the battery connected the entire time should I maybe disconnect battery and let ecu reset.

While car turns over the fuel relay constantly clicks.

Check the fuel relay/pump by turning the key to the RUN position and pushing in the VAF flap, it should kick the fuel pump on and you'll hear the pump going.

Pump is working. I am thinking because my neutral switch is broke it might effect that fuel relay.

yes fuel lines are connected right. tomorrow i double check everything and start over i have the next 4 days off so i will dig deep.
