Well I checked the vacuum lines. I found a couple that were loose including one that had a bead inside. So I replaced those. However, I can't seem to get the RPM to go down to 700. I checked the rpm with a warmed up engine and both the distributor vacuum line and the fan disconnected. It seems to stay around 1400.

either you still have a vac leak, or you're not setting your idle set screw properly. the other thing you have to check is to make sure your choke stepper is fully released, if it doesn't fully release, the idle will stay high no matter where you set the idle screw.

if you were closer, i'd stop by and lend a hand
