Defects do happen among all brands and even factory parts. It's very possible you simply got one that was "made on a Friday". You're not running any kind of racing fuel or anything are you?

Its been a few days since I replaced with a new Airtex fuel pump. This time I used a bit of the red high temp gasket sealer. It has been perfect with no oil or fuel leaks. Hopefully this one will last longer than three months. One thing I noticed about the new pump, it seems to be taller than the older Airtex pump. Because of this the fuel feed hose on the top rubs against some stuff. Can't catch a break!
