You can get a replacement oil drain plug or washer or both at low cost. I somehow lost the original copper washer when changing the oil and now have a nylon replacement washer. But you might first want to determine where the oil is leaking from, the plug or the oil pan gasket, or somewhere higher. It can all flow down and drips off the oil pan at the plug, being the lowest point on the engine. If you haven't done that I'd recommend wiping the oil off and looking to see where it leaks from again.

Are the left and right control arms the same? Everything I look up just says front lower. Nothing about left or right.

These things are fairly easy to replace right?

Yup, it's pretty straight forward. Put the car on stands, remove the sway bar, place a jack under the LCA and add a little preload, remove the pinch bolt, drop the LCA, then remove the pivot bolt in the frame rail. That's pretty much the sort version.

Again with the price and PITA to find 12's its almost a relief to hear its suspension components! Once that is complete your car is just that much more new and reliable!

A few years ago, one of my 88s with 12-inchers had really bad shakes above 40mph. I found that it was a single worn-out tie rod end ball joint. After replacing just that, I could peg the speedo hands-off with no shakes at all.

Parts are here! 2 new Moog arms shipped to my house for $75. I had already put the car on jack stands and took most stuff off so it would be ready for the new parts. Now it's still sitting there bc I have a kidney stone and feel like I'm dying

Ouch! I know how that feels. I had to go to the hospital because I thought I was giving birth out of my pee hole.:confused1:

Success! Changing them out wasn't bad at all. I'm almost worried bc it was so easy, ha. Took a pain pill and had some beer so I was able to somewhat deal with the kidney stone pain. It's a whole lot tighter now. I still have a little shake, but I think its from messing up my tires with the bad ball joints. By the way, both were toast!

Hehehe Beer, a pain pill, and then working on a car...maybe the first 2 is why it seemed so easy LOL

Just kidding, glad you hear you get it straightened out

Maybe try rotating the front tires to the back to see if tire wear is the reason for the little shake you still have.
