109094 ford escort cooling fan Question

on my brothers 1994 ford escort with a 1.9 motor I am trying to get the electric cooling fan to run when the ignition is turned on like I did with my fetsy\tiva when I grounded out a sensor. the engine compartment firewall is cramped with stuff so it is hard to find an opening to run a hotwire to a toggle switch.
