My distr vacuum advance was leaking (1989 carb). To save time (Ha!) I bought one from Advance because we're using the car daily. When I set base timing (correctly) I see it's not advancing properly - starting way too early, maybe 500 RPM. It's got to be the wrong or weakened springs. Anyone know of any springs that work on the Festiva or a spring /weight combination? The springs available online are limited. This is looking like it takes a complete re-engineering of the weights. Kicking myself for turning in a core. Car is a real pain to drive.
