my girlfriend crashed our 91 festiva that we've had since mile 3. She was 200 miles short of turning 300,000 miles. Her whole front end is toast! (not my girlfriend's... my car's) and there are no festivas in chicagoland to get front end pieces from. both quarterpanels, hood, bumper, grille. Frame and motor seem ok but radiator is dead. I'd even take a rear end damaged festiva and scalp parts if i could find one. Do kits attach to existing body or replace existing body? Cuz pimping her out would be sweet (my car... not my girlfriend). Can anyone help? I'm stranded in chicago, a stranger in a festiva free land... and need to get home to the pacific northwest where a great car is appreciated, lots of tivas there! please HELP

You've had your car since it only had 3 miles on it and you are just now getting on the forums?
Check out Ernst and Junspeeds for sale threads. They make kits and other stuff for our cars.

I think there are more Festys in the midwest than out her in the PNW, unless you know of a secret club I'm not part of. Also I'd dump the girl after wrecking my car and I've only had my Festy for 2 years. Make sure the frame is straight before you get too far into it.Owner of:

Also you said "quarter panels" in your post. Did you mean fenders? It sounded like it was front end damage.
How is the radiator core support?
It sounds like you need core support pulled out, and a radiator to get you home. The hood and etc can be done at a later date?
Keep this thread active and i'm sure someone will get back with you.
How can such person get hold of you? Email? Phone?Dan

yes i mean fenders, sorry. are you saying that i can drive home with no fenders bumpers hood lights grille etc? will that be legal if i can get lights to point in right direction? sorry for my ignorance. Also i knew that festies had fan clubs and knew that you all were the right folks to ask for help, i just have always just treated my baby like a pickup truck, tho have always loved how y'all pimp them out! saw one in oregon with the top cut off and a roll bar installed, so sweet! can i replace fenders and hood etc with kit parts? are they fiberglass? I have about two weeks to get this repair done. saw a 93 for sale that looks like a total parts car, waiting to hear back. Dont know if he wants to see it chopped up... tyvm my phone in chicago 773 356 5999 out all day, eve nite is bestty so much!!!

5 bolts per fender
2 bolts for the hood
You may need some body work to straighten the core support. But a hammer will work if it's not too bad.
I'm not a body guy but was able to straighten this out.Last edited by Flyin4stroke; 08-08-2013, 08:04 AM.1988 Ford Festiva "Sonic" BPT g25mr MS2 standalone ecu, FOTY '11, Best Beater FMV, Fan Favorite FMVI

This is what mine looked like when I got it. This happened when the previous owner was in Missouri. He drove it to Virginia exactly like you see it.
Got it home, took it apart. Creative use of chains, hammers and blocks of wood...
There's still work to be done, I just haven't gotten around to replacing the door or hood hinge.

since it's not a "hot rod", it needs fenders (as required in most states). the hood is optional, the bumper is not. Nore are the lights (they must be there and work).
again, we need pix to assess the damage and effect a repair planTrees aren't kind to me...
