Need help

I got a 91 festiva that I just got for $200 and it has good compression on 3 cylinders and only 30 on the second. It doesn't smoke or knock. So I'm thinking cracked piston. It could also be the head. But if it was something to do with the head what would it be. if it was warped it wouldnt have any compresion ibwould think at least thats how it was with my escort. I just want it to run right for a couple of monts and over winter I'm gonna do the 1.8 swap since I have 4 of those motors.

Further testing such as injecting air in that cylinder will show a burnt valve, or whatever is causing the problem. Welcome here!

Does the compression come up when you squirt a little wd40 down in there? That generally indicates rings.

taking a bet on burnt exhaust valve. also betting that it has a rough idle, and no power untill you get past 3000 RPM.

If a hammer doesn't fix it you have an electrical problem
