        Passed.

Took it in this morning and it passed. The NOx reading was 29.2ppm with a limit of 1380ppm. Big improvement from 1872ppm.

I installed a new O2 sensor, pcv valve and a converter I had from a car that passed with no problems. Also ran 3/4 of a can of seafoam thru the intake and the rest in the tank.

Now to try the BP car then back to the 89 problem.

What hose exactly do you shoot the SeaFoam through?

I just pulled off the hose that runs from the manifold to the solenoid on the firewall and slowly sucked it out of the can.

Question 93 tiva in nj failed E . NOx . Everything points to EGR if tiva does not have one what is problem. Can't afford $450.00 to get waiver

I checked with ford dealer they don't list an egr valve. I have what I thought was it but dealer calls part "secondary air flow valve"???

Probably the convertor, also check timing.

Festiva's don't have a EGR they have a PCV valve, that is why ford doesn't list one. :-) I believe it is a little plastic valve on the valve cover with a ruber hose coming out of it.

Logan maybe it is a PCV not PVC?

Festivas have a Positive Crackcase Ventilation (PCV) valve on top of the valve cover - No Exhaust Gas Recirculator (EGR) valve.
Timing is fairly critical for NOx readings. Make sure the timing is set on or tiny bit advanced of where it should be. Also make sure that the Catalytic Converter is good and HOT. Run the car for a while. Take it for a ride on the interstate before you go for the test (at least 15 minutes) and you should pass.
