can somebody tell me what color the wire is for the rear defrost +12v in the hatch area. I want to jump my taillights to the rear defrost switch so I don't gotta pop the hatch every time I go somewhere in the dark... can't seem to figure out why the taillights don't work.

Do the little 194 bulbs in the tails still work? Or the license plate bulbs?

I pulled the inside hatch cover off and looking through the clear plastic and it appears to me that the black wire that goes up through the hole below the rear window for the defogger on the left side connects to a black and blue wire. (this was on my 1990 Yellow LPlus).
You should be able confirm by unplugging the connection behind the tail light for it and use a voltmeter to check to see if the defogger switch supplies current to that wire when it is turned on.

When I jump power to the circuit all the lights that should come on work.

I got this sorted out the other day and forgot to update, thanks for the help 90new, it was the thicker black/blue wire! (probably 16ga compared to the other 18g wires..)

Since my car didn't come with a rear defroster I'm missing the harness (connector and wires) that run from the socket by the taillight up into the hatch. I just chopped off the black/blue wire and spliced it over to the taillight wire.
