  • Another e-check failure

Bad year for me and the e-check.

This time it's my 89 4 speed carbed festiva.

NO again this reading was 3338.9 ppm and the limit is 1877 ppm. I had it tested last year and it was 933.7 ppm.

I'll try the seafoam. Any other suggestions?

The 1st car that failed will go back tommorrow.

The carb'd car HAS an EGR vavle. I would try cleaning/testing it.

www.ncf.ca/~ag384/EGRvalve.htm for cleaning the EGR valve on an '89 carburetted Festiva. Easy no-cost solution to high NOx reading on my Festiva.

go buy one new cat and swap it between all of your vehicles,

just make sure its for a carb'd model with the air tube (you can plug it for fuel injection)
