WE ARE!

Currently renting a Uhaul to get us back, suburban keeps overheating, white smoke out the back and it's drinking coolant like a V8 mustang drinks gas. we replaced all the coolant sensors and the thermostat, but still happens now we're guessing its going to be a head gasket or the rear water jacket off the intake. Thoughts on this?

if the smoke is coming from the exhaust and not just bring off the motor than head gasket
would be my bet.

Sure as heck sounds like a head gasket to me. If it's using water and it isn't making it to the ground then the water has to be going into the crankcase or out the exhaust valve in the form of steam. Cracked block, cracked head, or burst head gasket... or a combination. Damn the luck.

gm has used plastic intake gasket on everything for the las 10 yrs .and thiscan cause the same issue.but either way its headgaskets or intake gaskets or both.

Were on our way now, thanks for the call sc72. We decided a nice air conditioned uhaul would get us home. We were about to call some friends from missouri and start making some pretty tall. Orders lol.

We figured it was likely the head gasket so were having it looked at in knoxville and stored till we can come pick her up

Oh hah yes yes...

61 f750 tandem dually, bidded a job that needed 10,000 yards of sand. 3 days into it, 332hd pushed out a gasket. I was 12, and guess what my job was,...

Making sure 5gal bucket is full of water, dad removed tstat and teed into top hose, strung 10ft to the cab, and my job was to keep dumping water in it.


Went through a sparkplug a day. Kept pickin from the coffee can.....

Get creative. All she needs is oil and water.

Whatever, don't dump in any "magic" leak sealer. You will have a real internal mess later on.
