My Haynes manual says 60 ft/lbs of torque for the head bolts. Can some verify that? The specs just seem low for the main engine components.

yea it's 60...arp bolts say 80, but guys on cp.com have reported the head cracks with that much torque on the bolts. Don't know or understand why but it was a big deal to them when I built my BP.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

i run 70 when re-installing a head (set it and forget it)Trees aren't kind to me...

I've done the headgasket on the B3 a few times. It was recommended to do 20-40-60ft/lbs. Do the spiraling out pattern, all at 20, then again for 40, and 60.Last edited by crazyrog17; 08-28-2013, 11:11 PM.-Zack
