  • B3 torque specs

My Haynes manual says 60 ft/lbs of torque for the head bolts. Can some verify that? The specs just seem low for the main engine components.

It's correct. If you install ARP studs, it would be much higher, like 80 or 90 ft-lbs.

I am reusing my head bolts as I do not believe they are torque to yield.

yea it's 60...arp bolts say 80, but guys on cp.com have reported the head cracks with that much torque on the bolts. Don't know or understand why but it was a big deal to them when I built my BP.

I've done the headgasket on the B3 a few times. It was recommended to do 20-40-60ft/lbs. Do the spiraling out pattern, all at 20, then again for 40, and 60.
