    Hey guys,

I need a ignition switch and key or ignition lock cylinder with key, same thing...anyway, can I install one from an automatic in my manual festiva? Anyone have any suggestions?

Swap the steering column?? Why would I do that? I just need a new one, because the idiot that owned the car before me snapped the key off in the ignition, and then gouged it all up trying to get it out.

Does anybody else have any input on this one? I just want to make sure before I buy it, and it doesn't work.

He tells you switch the whole colume, because getting the locking cylinder off, even with the special tool is a pain in the ass. It took me an hour with a chisel, and a hammer to get mine off :-) Switching the column is alot less fustrating.

Also don't forget if you switch your locking cylinder then you might have to change the locks on your car doors and hatch, unless the keys work in the other lock, or you keep the original key for the doors.

even easier, get an ignition switch for a forklift and wire it under the colum, that's how my white fes is set up since the original ignition broke.

Alright. I purchased the ignition switch from the automatic car, and I will let you guys know how it goes. The doors, hatch and gas locks are also included, so I will be okay. Thanks for the input guys. Thanks Joseph;-)
