93 festiva timing tune up with black sti grounded engine dont start...

hello all;

i am trying to set the timing on my 93 festiva fuel injected; i grounded the black sti connector to chassis ground and try to start the car, but the engine dont start; just cranks; right next to the black sti connector, there's also a white test connector, do i have the right connector to ground??? please help. thanks a bunch;

Try the white connector.

i checked google; the white connector on the 93 model is for rpm indicator; anybody else have the same issue when trying to set timing???

The 1993 Service Manual says it's a single terminal black connector, Y/BL wire, near the brake master cylinder.

hello everyone;

i am still having the same problem and cannot set timing; i've grounded the black sti connector to chassis; no engine flash code, i crank the engine over, but it does not start. does anyboby else have the same problem?? please help; need to smog the car soon in california.
