  • Glasspack?

Would a glasspack on my 91 FI Festiva cause any sort of problem for the car? Other then the noticeably louder exhaust note?

I have that on mine, and there is no problem. Increase fumes, because it ends in the middle of car instead of back, and it took awhile to minimize rattling. Noticeable difference, and it takes out whine and leave beefy noises

fi you dont want do to a glasspack go to autozone and get a turbo 2 cherry bomb. once it is broke in it has a nice deep rumble and it is loud enough to turn heads.

I was told by someone to install a Cherrybomb. I think I will do that. Does the glasspack go directly where the muffler will be removed? Will I need to buy anything extra other then the Cherrybomb?

i used flex pipe form murrys and then threw a tip on.

from the resignator? back. jsut eliminated the muffler it it has a deep sound at idle. High welll... itts too good to describe at high rpms.

          but it works.

          no weld

if you install the bomb you will need to get a expander to go from your original pipe to the bomb and also three clamps....1.original pipe/expander
2.expander/bomb 3.bomb/exhuast tip if you decide to put on a tip.
you can probably do it all for under $40.

Would Autozone be the place to go for that then? A guy there has an 88 Subaru Justy, right up there with the Festys in my book! So hopefull he can gather up all the parts for me. Thats all I'm worrying bout.

personally i would and they will tell you what size expander and clamps you will need.

Sounds good. I'm fortunate enough to live within shouting distance of an Autozone. Thats a good and bad thing.

dont put a straight thru glasspack on!, they are ghetto, sounds like crap, and everyone will think you are trying to be like those honda kids!,

Instead try a "turbo pack" basiclly its a glass pack case, but with 2 tubes inside like a turbo muffler, they are nice and mellow, but when you get on it you get a nice tone. not a drone, weedwhacker sound..

www.racerpartsewholesale.com carries them for like $14.00

I remember my header being a strange strange size, and having to weld mine on. But my headers were aftermarket, and were really strange as well.

I don't know about the cherrybomb, but the purple hornie restes on top of the control arm, causing a severe rattle. I took the control arm off, and cut a niche where it is, and put some rubber as well as model rocketry flame retardant wadding to the possible contact areas. Still rattles at high RPM, but its all temporary for me before I do my BPT swap.

Good advice. I DO NOT WANT TO BE LIKE THE HONDA KIDS. Now I'm getting confused. Where exactly does the glasspack go? Directly where the muffler is? After I remove the muffler of course.

Hahaha yeah-- it will go there. I'm just crazy and bolted it straight to the header. I keep forgetting not everyone is as unpractical as me

And you won't sound like a ricer.

straight thru glass pack from Advanced Auto = $20 doesn't sound taht loud or ghetto. you'll need 1 or 2 adapters to addapt down to the stiva pipe size tho, the smallest glass pack is 2".
if you want to go w/ a tip you can i just have a nice red thing sticking out the back of my car tho
