  • which ignition coil?

How can I tell if I've got the right ignition coil for an '89 carburetted Festiva?
I'd like to see if I can find one at the junk yard but don't know what to look for.
There is a '92 and a '93 Mazda 323 there. Would they be the rigth ones?

I've replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and igntion module but the egnine still
misses when warmed up (after 20 minutes).

    Thanks.

jason: the carburetor and linkages have been sprayed with cleaner. How do I know if the choke is opening fully?

You take the top of the air cleaner off and look into the carb to make sure the choke is wide open at the top

^^ top butterfly is choke plate, bottom is carb/jet just before intake vacuum starts.

Double check if float is getting stuck, as engine gets warmer it'll be more sensitive to a rich fuel mixture.

Here is what is printed on the coil...

            B303 18 100
            FTC-4 12V H
            Use with transistor igniter
            8Y3

Also there is a Chinese ignition module on the Internet with a search string of B303-18-V20
which also has J207 (the Mitsubishi part number of the Festiva module) and a photo of the
            Festiva module for the car

Can anyone say what any of that means and how it might be used to find a junk yard replacement?

Instaled a new Intermotor (Standard Motor Products) UF2. Missing has stopped. Price was $45 CDN + tax.
