  • Throttle hesitation

Hello all I have an on going problem today, The car is a 92 GL 1.3 5 speed with just over 300k. I sprayed Dawn Power scrub on the engine, drove it 1 block to the car wash, I plastic bagged the Dizzy, the car ran fine to get home But now it has a hesitation when you take off in first and into the next gears, it acts like a carb with a bad accelerator pump, it does come out of it as the R's climb. Any thoughts, comments. Thanks

Ok so today the bog symptoms have changed, it still bogs but now when you clutch it, it might rev to 1500/1700 rpm's then drop to 2 or 3 hundred rpm's then settle at 800 where I set it, then repeat the process when you hit the clutch again.

Mine used to bog down like that when the ac condenser was jumped to be on all the time. When i clutched in and the revs dropped it would darn near stall, most of the time it would recover. Problem has since gone away when i installed the proper relays.

Thanks Chobobulous for the reply, I checked the AC it was cycling in and out so no problem there, what I did find was the flapper door in the VAF was sticking, you could shake it and make the door move, I quit messing with it and grabbed another of the shelf, the car runs fine now. Thank goodness for spare parts.

For some reason we don't have a lot of festivas here in Iowa and the ones we do have are total rust buckets, so ya I do have spare parts, I will have to make friends with someone from the South so I can buy a rust free Festiva.
