  • Motor back in, won't start

I got the motor back in and now it won't start. I think I have the disty hooked up right but can someone give me the correct hook up and maybe other things I can check?

The car is sitting with the front up so maybe the fuel pump isn't picking up any fuel?

A few more details would help. What engine are you using? EFI or Carby? It's possible if you have an EFI, to hook the fuel lines up backward.

FI. I'm talking about which plug hooks where on the disty. And for the fuel lines someone has added a inline fuel filter and I was almost positive that it came off the regulator.

Fuel filter connects to the fuel rail; regulator connects to the line going back to the tank.

Have you isolated fuel as the problem? Spray carb cleaner in the intake and try to start. Report back.

Not sure what the problem is. I'll do that after work and report back.

From the fuel filter, the hose connects to the top most fuel line.

Is it cranking? You have a check engine light on the dash?

If it runs for even a second, check the VAF connection.

So then from the filter it goes into the fuel rail and not to the regulator?

Ye it's cranking and the check engine like comes on like it used to when you started it.

                    so firing order is

the fuel lines go like this

this one with filter goes to the rail

the other goes to the regulator

thought this was easier than words lol good luck

Yeah thanks! I thought someone had added that fuel filter in but since you posted that I believe my lines are backwards. But the disty is hooked up right.

Could I have messed something up when the ignition coil accidentally sparked while turning that car over to build oil pressure?
