  • Transmission troubles with both Festivas!

I HAVE TWO FANTASTIC FESTIVAS. They have been well maintained and driving great. Within months of eachother, both cars are automatic and started having shifting trouble. One "Fester" started not going into any gear above 3rd and worked perfectly in 1,2 and 3. I noticed that putting it into gear had a slight resistance but just slight extra force needed. This lasted about a week and now "Drive" is hard to find and the gears slip. Fester has had a filter change and fluid change. No leaks and no metal flakes found in the pan. I don't even know where to start?
The Second, "Festie" started having trouble finding reverse and only shifted into 1st and 2nd. Then all gears went and I cant even find "Drive". Festie has no leaks and fluid looks good. Her shift box has bees loose from sided to side, but never effected her. I am at a loss here too..Strange that they went at the same time. Does anyone have any Ideas here as to where to start looking? I could really use the help. Thanks Emerson

first: Fester doesn't have more than 3 gears, so nothing to worry about there. what needs to be done is adjust the selector cable. and make sure it has the proper amount of fluid in it (check while running)

second: Festie likely has a broken selector cable. check that first.

Thanks Feast.. She just seems to rev so High as to what I remember so I figured she had an extra gear. Now that that is figured out, Fluid is right and at the proper level so I will check the selector cable. Is that in the Shift box and relatively easy to change? That lil black fetsie you have is fantastic!!!
