  • No Fuel

    Hey guys,

so my automatic Festiva, Sara, died on me the other night. At first I thought it was the battery but wouldn't take power from jump starting. The battery has charge so thats no the problem. Thought it was my fuel pump because I'm not getting any fuel to the engine. I checked the fuel lines and replaced the fuel pump, changed the fuel filter a few weeks ago so thats good too. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be my problem?

Check the driver's side rear strut tower, just within the hatch, under the speaker cover. Make sure it's not the inertia switch. Press down on the little red button.

Try putting a jumper wire around the inertia switch. It could be bad. Also check the EGI fuse link under the hood. It should be one of the fuse links on the drivers side fender. You also could pull up the rear seat, move the carpet and check for power on the pump itself if you have anyone to help you.

          ^^^^Sorry to thread jack..

How does one jump the inertia switch? I have pretty much the same problem.. known good fuel pump, battery good, fuses good.. no start (because no fuel/pump action).

There's a plug you remove on the bottom. Just use a piece of wire or a paper clip to jump the 2 wires in the plug.

Just a simple suggestion, try grounding pcm with sti wire, that worked on mine when i had a strange issue. Aparently the maf sensor has something to do with fuel, just a simple check.

If it's a manual trans try starting the car without pushing clutch in that will not run the starter but will still run the pump and allow you to hear it better . If none of this is your fix try the fuel relay above the hood release handle area . Check power ground and trigger using same steps to run pump I just mentioned .

Bumping this one back to the top instead of starting a new thread. Little sisters festiva died on her yesterday and is not getting fuel. dont seem to be getting any power to the pump. probed the green/yellow wire at the pump and relay with a test light and nothing. tried swapping the VAF and another relay and nothing. any help would be appreciated!

                    thanks
