Pics are helpful. Can you get your finger in the back hatch and pop it open from the inside? whats broken on passenger side? window glass or the mechanism, both?

I have a complete white hatch in corona, ca. cant really ship it but if you have any excuse to come to LA area i can help

well cosmetically nothing looks wrong thats why there's no pics. i havent tried that before ill try that in the morning, for the passenger side i think its the mech cause the glass looks fine.

Did you unlock it? I never lock mine and daughter did the other day. I got mad that she slammed the hatch hard or something. No she was being responsible. Bad parenting.

these plastic fantastic cars...just tiny clips hold the pins of door handles and locks assemblies. if they snap off then panic mode time, been there.

no i dont mean those buggers that hold your door panel on, i mean the mechanism have crappy plastic clips that can fail leaving levers and pins not pulling doing the work to open a door etc. Auto parts stores sell door panel plastic clips that are slightly too large, but they are perfect when you have hogged some of the door card holes out and are ruined anyway

don't use wd40...use pb blaster....one of the best things you can use. Easiest way to get it open is through the back from the inside. Take the cover off and you can pop it open. Once open it is much easier to work on.

If your hatch is just locked and your key isn't working you can unlock it from the inside.

No I posted it awhile back...I'm exactly sure why.. I think someone else was having trouble unlocking their rear hatch or something. Since I have a hatch from a GL on my L I've never had a working key so that's how I've always had to do it!

dwhite, if you are having an issue with the rear hatch lock itself, grab one from a JY and use it. It wll most likely be worn enough that your key will work.

Might need to lube up the latch or something. I slam mine too just to make sure it shuts good. You might also want to loosen the two bolts holding the latch on...but just a little bit and then close it and maybe it will adjust the latch to the right spot and then tighten them back up.
