How to adjust the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor}

I recently replaced it and can't get my car to run right. It's really rough and jerky when you let off the gas. 93 EFI 5 speed. The factory manual gives a much different procedure than my haynes manual. If there is a simple procedure for setting it, please chime in. Also, any info on which volt meter to use and how to set it would be helpful. If anyone knows which plug is used for the TACH ? This would be nice for adjusting the idle since my car does not have the tach dash.

Throttle closed & WOT is all you are adjusting.Any $3.99 HF meter works.You cant mess anything up its real simple. But may sure you set Base Timing & idle speed also just to make sure everything is correct.

My dash pot suddenly went out of adjustment at one time and made a real mess of engine idle (high and loping) until I played with the screw adjuster on it. The TPS has about 10-15 degrees of movement location-wise and I have a hard time imagining that trial and error can't take care of dealing with that end of things.

Trial and error for adjusting the TPS- I'd much rather use a meter and do it right. Plus a meter will show you if the sensor is bad right away.
