  • 1995 eagle talon non turbo burnes oil

my brother bought a one owner eagle talon non turbo with 125000 miles on it from my cousin and the engine burnes oil and i have asked a couple of mechanics and they said that those engins were prone to smoke and there was a cheap fix for this problem but I am checking here to see if anybody here has owned one before and had the same problems.

thank you all for the help

I'll assume you've got blue smoke. Start with the PCV valve... clean it, spray out the hoses, and ensure it rattles properly. From there, if it's still bad, test the engine vacuum and compression to get a better idea of what's wrong. Is it worse after sitting and on cold startup? Or is it constant?

No they really weren't prone to smoke....they were prone to people driving them like they were casting for a Fast n Furious movie. PVC is a good place to start, but usually its valve stem seals.

thanks for the information about not being prone to smoke it was a good deal for us to get it because it was taken care of being in the garage or car port and there is no dents in it and we came across it by accident because my female cousin needed my brother and his pick up truck to ship some boxes and she mentioned that she needed to sell it in 3 days before she moved.
