  • Aspire post engine swap power

I swapped in a jy b3a couple weeks back into lil red. One thing I've noticed from watching my vacuum gauge is that intermittently it seems to be down on power. Sometimes it's nice and responsive at 14 to 16 on my gauge. Other days I gotta open the throttle up a bit further, it'll read 10, getting up to speed. Any ideas. I have the old engine still for parts

what's the idle vacuum look like and what's your ignition timing set to? and have you verified the cam timing?

Idle vacuum looks normal. Around 21. I never really checked either of the others. Is clockwise turning the distributor advancing timing?

It did throw a tps code when I got it all hooked up the first time. Does any one know if these tps are a switch or a potentiometer.

aspires run a sweep style TPS.

if you are staring at the dizzy from the driver side, clockwise is advance.

How much advance would full advance grant you. And could that cause any ill effects as long as no knock is detected

If you are full advanced...you have something wrong that needs to be fixed. Usually youre a tooth off on the timing belt.
