    The only thing is, I thought lifter ticks on startup were a trait of hydralic lifters, not solid and other types of lifters?
    I believe that '90 and up do have hydraulic lifters. Maybe I am wrong.

      PO said this motor was out of an 89'. I have no clue if it was from an Auto or not.

        Update

        I have driven 110 miles since putting in the Marvel Mystery Oil and it still makes the noise. How much longer should I give it before going in and inspecting the lifters?

          I think I found the problem.... still sounds a little noisy, I'll replace the other 6 soon.
