Please post closeup pictures of the shifter rod at both ends from underneath with the car in gear, say 1st.
Also please post closeup pictures of the clutch cable at both ends.
You also really need some pedal pads. I will grab a good set next time I'm in the junkyard.Last edited by bravekozak; 11-12-2013, 01:29 PM.

I went out and started taking the old clutch cable off and found it to be twisted and not movable like it should be so I got it untwisted and put back on just sure that it was the culprit but didn't change anything. Unless it being twisted up damaged it I guess that might not be the prob either.
I will change it out in the morning and take those pictures you requested and see if it makes any difference. My Festiva Youtube Channel.

Could my issues be caused by the clutch switch button? I was under there looking and the button isn't getting depressed when i release the clutch its going through a hole that I am assuming is supposed to have some kind of button or bump stop type of deal?
I was putting the shifter into different gears and then measuring to see if the linkage was moving and it was moving when i put it into gears. Could my issue be as simple is blocking that hole so the clutch switch gets depressed? My Festiva Youtube Channel.

No, it is in the linkage or in the trans itself. That switch, if it wasn't making a connection, would keep your car from starting. It is a neutral safety switch, ie, it keeps you from trying to start the car in gear, and rabbit hopping when you should be sitting still.
You need to look where the linkage meets the trans, see if the yoke on the trans is moving when you change gears.Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

Well the verdict is in. Zanzer was nice enough to drive up and take a look and it seems as though the clutch is fried.
But back to the original purpose of this thread. I still don't have the white one going yet as advance has the incorrect listings for their tie rods. For every bodies reference advance auto part number : Part No DW-EV288 is a 90+ inner tie rod despite what the what their system says. Its not the 80's inner. They have it in their system as fitting all festies. So when I searched for 89 inner tie rod it popped up as fitting but it doesn't.
But I ordered the correct part via the bay cause I was tired of arguing with advance so I had to do it.My Festiva Youtube Channel.

Avoid advance. Lately their parts have been pure crap in this area.Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

The correct inners came in today. I'm off tomorrow and I will be able to put them and hopefully I will be able to start driving the white one. It's nice to have a part show and be the correct one for once.My Festiva Youtube Channel.

Yeah I got them in. I was able to back the car up but not much else. I have to bleed the brakes because I undid the brake lines when switching out the broke axle.My Festiva Youtube Channel.

Drum Brakes
So now I am working on the rear brakes on the white one and I replaced the wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, inner and outer bearings, new grease etc. When putting the drum back on it barely wanted to fit back on and won't freely spin. Actually once I put the spindle nut on I can't get the drum to spin at all. Not sure its a bearing issue or I think its because the brake shoes are sitting on the drum. I was following the hynes manual but something isn't right. Is there an adjuster nut or something? Also it seems like the drum might not be sitting centered on the spindle/back plate. ANY Suggestions? My Festiva Youtube Channel.
