Dude, I'm going to bed. If you want to run a manual switch I'll help you. I'll check the thread tomorrow. Just let me know. I'm not trying to talk you into anything. I've been running a manual fan switch in my 84 corvette for over a year and it has never failed me.

Im going to get me a temperature guage with the numbers on it then install the toggle switch. That way I'll have a better idea when I need to kick the fan on and off. I'll holler back at u festy gramps when I get a guage installed. Thanks everybody for the help.

I direct wired my fan with a toggle switch and inline minifuse, all I have to do is remember to turn it on when I get into town and then turn it off when I get back out on the highway. If I forget I can hear it running when I get back to the house.

You could have both. Get a new sensor from Rock auto for like 20 bucks, come off the new sensor with a small wire to a switch mounted on the dash, and then from the switch back to the original wire that used to go to the sensor. now when you open the switch the fan will come on. Close the switch and the fan will operate normally. Personally I would just get a new sensor and fix the thing the way it was designed. I've had it both ways and there is nothing wrong with the original setup.
