  • Ignition Problems.

So I have been working on my '89 Ford Festiva L for a whole now, and just got a new relay.
With hope of my car staring again, I go and turn the key, from Lock, to Acc., to power.
As soon as it hits power it starts cranking before I can turn it from power to start to try and crank it.
It seems to be trying to start but the starter is getting in the way.

It wasn't doing this around a week ago, just started happening today.
If anyone has any advise please let me know.
Because it's the most odd thing I have experienced with my Festy so far.
I took off the over to try and see any fried wires but everything looked fine.

If it's the switch I find spraying WD-40 (or contact cleaner) into the igniton key hole fixes some problems.

The contacts on the back of the switch maybe jummed up or broken. Would you like some pic's of what your getting into and what I did to clean them up.

An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.
